The “Boost Post” button is right there, it is easy, and it makes you feel like you are doing marketing. That is exactly why it is so dangerous.
What boosting actually optimizes for
When you boost a post, Facebook optimizes for cheap engagement — likes and comments — not leads or sales. You get vanity metrics that look nice and do nothing for your revenue.
Three reasons boosting fails
- No real objective. Boosts default to engagement, not conversions.
- No structure. There is no funnel from cold to engaged to converted.
- No tracking. You cannot see cost-per-lead or ROAS, so you cannot improve.
What to do instead
Run proper campaigns from Ads Manager with a clear conversion objective, a strong offer, structured audiences (cold, engaged, retargeting), and full pixel tracking. It takes more setup, but every taka becomes measurable and every result becomes repeatable.
Boosting feels productive. Structured campaigns are productive. Choose the one that shows up in your bank account.
